The Faculty of Economics was established in 2010. Currently, it is a dynamically developing structural unit of Kalmyk State University, participating in the implementation of the university’s main mission. Today, the faculty implements a tiered system of training in accordance with FGOS-3, preparing students for economic calculation, analytical, organizational and managerial, research, accounting, and financial professional activities.
To conduct training for bachelors, masters, and postgraduates, and to carry out scientific research, the faculty possesses a modern material base and highly qualified teaching staff.
The educational process is a key component in the faculty’s activities. A strategic priority is the training of highly qualified and competitive economic and managerial personnel, based on labor market needs. Within this priority, the faculty’s objectives are:
- ensuring high quality of core and additional educational programs;
- expanding and updating the range of these programs.
The high quality of educational programs and specialist training in priority areas of modernization and technological development of the Russian economy is evidenced by their recognition in the professional scientific-academic community and society as a whole. The best programs of Innovative Russia were recognized in 2017: 38.03.01 “Economics”, 38.03.02 “Management”, 38.03.03 “Human Resource Management”.
In 2017, the Department of Economics and Enterprise Management became the winner of the All-Russian Department Competition held by the All-Russian public organization “Free Economic Society”.
In December 2018, the educational programs 38.03.01 “Economics” and 38.03.02 “Management” underwent professional accreditation at the Volgograd Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
In the educational process, faculty members employ active and interactive forms and methods of teaching, including debates, solving case studies, presenting reports, small group methods, teamwork, interactive boards, and projectors.
